Aboard our playful yet stable RIB boat, we take you through dramatic landscapes of towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters, leading to the famous Trollfjord—one of Norway’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

We offer the silent approach: Using the sailboat and kayak, we can approach the birds in their natural habitat without disturbing them.
At Arctic Ocean Lodge, we are proud members of the Birds & Wildlife Network on Andøya, a collaboration dedicated to protecting and promoting the region’s unique birdlife and marine wildlife. Our commitment extends beyond offering unforgettable nature experiences—we actively support conservation efforts, responsible tourism, and sustainable wildlife observation.
By working closely with local researchers, guides, and environmental organizations, we ensure that our activities contribute to the protection of Arctic species and their habitats. Through ethical wildlife encounters and educational initiatives, we strive to inspire awareness and appreciation for the incredible biodiversity of Andøya.
Only a short sail from the Arctic Ocean Lodge we can find a wide range of exotic birds such as White-tailed Eagles, Pink-footed Geese, Redshank, Red-breasted Mergansers, Barnacle Geese, Velvet Scoters, Eiders and many different types of wetland birds. If the wind allows it, we sail all the way for an hour towards Åholmen Nature Reserve and set anchor nearby. From here, we drop the kayaks and approach slowly and peacefully and watch the birds as closely as possible without disturbing them.
Our main priority will always be to avoid harassing the birds in any way so that we can keep observing the amazing wildlife northern Norway has to offer - with a clear conscience.
Observing undisturbed wildlife is quite unique; you get to see what the birds are doing when they behave naturally and do not have to consider your presence as a potential danger.
We will see birds interacting with each other; courting, fighting between themselves, hunting, chasing, mating, singing, and much more! Nature truly comes alive when you take the time to observe and maintain a quiet presence. Our sail and kayak tours will leave you feeling even more enchanted by the natural world.
